Social Networks - The Greatest Impact on the human race in 21st Century

Through Centuries and Millenniums, the human mind have been evolving from time to time, due to the researches of our ancestors. Our ancestors save us a life time of researching that we only need to read through to get to know and continue it from, where they have stopped. And after many, many years, we have reached a feat that, people of 30 years back, would have thought impossible. It sure is an incredible feat to reach by us, mortal beings. So, what did this new world bring to us? What is so incredible about this new world? Why is it so controversial? Why does our elders get so impressed with a tablet or a smart phone? Why do people be in awe of Social Networks?

Yes. Our world has turned to a kind of a massive technological forest. Every day-to-day appliances we use has been substituted with micro-chip embedded devices. All the work we do in offices have been transferred to an electronic machine. The games we used to play outside has been programmed and installed into tablets, smart phones and laptop computers. The talks we used to do with mobile phones have been taken over by social networks. Of course, Social networks are the main system of thinking in our lives today. Many people find it difficult to live a day without using them. Social Networks have punched one of the strongest punch in the human mind in the history of human race. More than 90% of Internet users, are registered to at least one of the social networking sites.

So, what is a Social Network? The answer to this question differs from person to person. In my opinion, it is a website created to meet the social requirements of humans. The main target of the websites is to engage people, and give them a chance to meet and connect with other people in the easiest of ways. Though, each social network differs in which people the user would meet, they have this target of "socializing" in common. So, do you really think that these websites are doing their job? Are they the safest they can be? Or are they just a fantasy used to trick people into falling into Black-hat hackers' genius plans? Or are they the savior of human race?

Of course. Up until now, many social networking sites have done a pretty good job in prosecuting their primary target. Socializing people and making people be more of active in their community. Making people share their opinions for specific issues, sharing their personal feelings, and making their self feel better. Most people register to a social network, to the above specified target. They want to get attention. They want others to know they exist, and to acknowledge them! These are some of the greatest benefits you could ever get in a world that has gotten so rotten as it is today. We might as well, depend on the social web sites for years to come.

If something is as great as this, it sure should have a drawback of equal size. That's how this world works. Unfortunately, this is true for a Social Network as well. While we have depended so much on these sites, we have lost so many close friends, we have missed so many times that we could have used to socialize physically rather than through a computing device, we might have lost a chance of a lifetime as well, as what we do is just sit or lay in a place and scroll, scroll and scroll. But have you ever wondered, that the time you spent checking your news feed, could have used in a more precious way, in a more productive way, in a way that could have made your life better, even if little? Have you ever questioned yourself whether it is really the best thing to do, to pour in your feelings on to a public website rather than sitting beside a trust able close friend and getting their opinion? I seriously doubt that a stranger could feel you better than a 10 or 11 year long friend with whom you have shared your lifetime stories with.

Nevertheless, the reign of social networking will continue and with it, it's benefits, withdraws, it's victims and it's predators will continue to rise. Alas! May you be well aware of it!!
